This new FTP site functions as a standard, anonymous FTP server. Customers will be able to access and retrieve patches using a wide variety of publicly available FTP client tools. With the exception of point patches, security patches and patches requiring a valid software contract id (AKA private patches), ALL patch revisions in signed and un-signed format are available in this FTP site. Encryption patches are also available, but only in un-signed format. The latest OS Recommended clusters and Patch Reports are also viewable/downloadable via FTP. The cores and download directories will still be available as in the old FTP site. Japanese patches and MUs are no longer available via FTP. New Directory Structure ----------------------- All core directories (cores, Europe-cores, Explorer) and download directories are available at the root level. /download - location for storing files for downloading /core(s) - location for uploading core files. - the existing functionality that allows users to create sub- directories within the CORES directory will no longer be available with this new release. All patches, clusters and patch reports will be available under the /patchroot directory. /patchroot/all_encryption - contains all patch revisions released for encryption patches - includes binaries & readmes for 'Obsoleted' and 'Released' patches (does not include source code). - excluded are RESTRICTED and POINT Patches as well as the binaries for WITHDRAWN patches. /patchroot/current_encryption - contains the latest patch revision for encryption patches - includes binaries & readmes. - excluded are RESTRICTED and POINT Patches as well as the binaries for WITHDRAWN patches. /patchroot/all_signed contains the latest signed patch revisions in .jar format and signed version of patches obsoleted after November 22, 2002. Does not include encryption patches. /patchroot/all_unsigned - contains all unsigned patch revisions in .tar or .zip format. Does not include encryption patches. /patchroot/current_signed contains the latest signed patch revisions in .jar format. /patchroot/current_unsigned contains latest unsigned patch revisions in .tar or .zip format. /patchroot/clusters contains the latest recommended OS Clusters for all supported Solaris releases, J2SE clusters and Java Enterprise System Pre-requisite clusters. /patchroot/reports contains the latest patch reports for all supported Solaris releases. /patchroot/all_restricted contains all unsigned restricted patches /patchroot/current_restricted - contains the lates unsigned restricted patches.
